Moving together in the “Dance of Life”, metaphor of the Yatra, a journey in space/time. The journey is also a process of personal growth and creation in every sense of the term, where one culture enriches the other, widening personal horizons, bringing tolerance and sharing a new vision of love and hope for humanity.
Dedicated to the memory of Merce Cunningham, my mentor and long time friend, and to his all time collaborator John Cage who would have turned 101 this year, and to the magic of ‘Chance’. (we know you will both be smiling wherever you are).” – Sheela Raj
* Da Saz / Namrata
The Nouveau project is about experimental electronic music composed and performed with analog synths. Da-saz has traveled a long way to find its present destination.
I believe in experimentation, trying new ideas… it (the live set) is now formless, shapeless, including just sounds and ambient tones, floating around, like abstract art… http://www.myspace.com/dasaaz
Namrata has been able to explore rare nuances of Kathak with perfection and her creativity makes her work beyond barriers. She believes that search is the lifeline of any art form.The search has to be never ending. Dwelling into new ideas exploring, movement beyond definition. Art undefined is art defined, this is the philosophy that has driven her over the years. http://www.namratakathak.in/
5. Hemant Sreekumar has been dreaming since three decades and got involved with noise since 1986 when he started self-hypnosis using televison + radio static.He finds joy in embroidering coded computational processes to create sonic situations. His compositions deal with notions of measurement, digital decay, data sonification and stochastic emergence.
6 Archan Nair: Archan Nair is a self developed visual artist, illustrator and Art Director, specializing in mixed media, illustration, and digital art.He is inspired by various phases and forms of life to create highly intricate works that connect the various dimensions of our existence. http://www.archann.net/
7. Harshavardhan Kadam: Harshvardhan performs Live Digital Painting & experiments to communicate mystical aspects of Vedic thoughts and give them a visible form and believes that it will take him multiple lives to even scratch the surface of Vedic ideologies and create visual poetic references. http://inkbrushnme.tumblr.com/
8. Shazeb Shaikh: Shazeb is a Core-Curator at the Carnival of eCreativity, India and a Core Member of The Wall Project. He is also a multidisciplinary artist usually working with spontaneous expressions with a special focus on Live Video Capture & Processing in performance arenas.
Shivnakaun MediaArts is an audio-visual experimental arts project, exploring innovative possibilities of expression in the field of new media art creation via compositions, performance, installations and online broadcasts. Formed in 2005, it started out as a spontaneous music group with collaborations & work in diverse backgrounds. http://shivnakaun.com/.
